    Bob,
I did as you recommended and set the internal RAM preview to 3,072 but when I checked the max available in preferences/video it indicated only 1664 MB…only a 640 MB increase from the default 1,024. What gives?

    Thanks

Here’s one way, If the owner of the Picasa web album has not blocked you from downloading the photos there should be a download tab at the top when you open the album.

You also must have Picasa installed on your computer. Choose download to Picasa. The whole album will be downloaded to picasa on your computer including the captions.

Select the album in Picasa on your computer and choose create a movie presentation. The settings will allow you to create a .wmv slideshow of the photos with transitions and motion as well as the captions. If needed, choose the slide tab and click on each photo at the bottom to change the caption font, color, size, etc. You can even add music. This may satisfy your needs but you can also import the .wmv file into Vegas to edit it as desired. By the way, the .wmv file is saved to the Picasa folder in the My Documents/My Pictures folder.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, Steve, I had to uncheck video monitor in the trimmer and now the video display works fine for Media Manager. I would have never found that. I consider that a glitch that should be fixed. Media Manager is truly one of the great time saving features of vegas 8.

    Steve,
I’ve seen the photo album made by Serge, but what I am asking about is the pop up action of the photos when the album opens or closes. This is where the photos appear to fold up or down. How is that created?

Thanks for the reply, John. Just a follow up question. Is this interlace problem common when resizing SD video to a smaller size? I don’t do it very often but when I do I seem to have this problem quite often. I just don’t recall ever seeing instructions on any forums or training DVDs to deinterlace your video in Vegas before resizing.

    Anthony,
Here’s how to fix that. Click on the little “event pan/crop” icon on the ArtBeat clip. Right click on the main screen that opens and choose “Match Output Aspect” and there you go. Make sure you do this with both ArtBeat clips.

Glad to help but no kissing please.

    Oops!
Sorry, Anthony, I just remembered that I had to modify their instructions somewhat. Here are the modifications using the egg drop transition:

In step 1 drag the colored egg clip to video track 1 and then choose multiply mask as shown in step 2.

Drag the egg matte to video track 2 as shown in step 3, apply the mask generator as shown in step 4 and then make that a compositing child as shown in step 5.

Drag the two clips you’re transitioning between to video track 3 and butt them together directly below where the egg splatters.

    That should do it.

Here is the solution. Digital Juice uses mattes with their new Swipes. Go to the link below to read their instructions on how to set them up in Vegas Pro. It applies in the same way to the Artbeats transitions. I have the ArtBeats dropping egg transition as well and it worked for me when I followed their instructions.

Yes but set video and audio for uncompressed. Read my initial response.
