  • a TERABYTE!? As in 1000GB? Blimey, what workstation would support that much RAM? I know the Boxx Apexx systems support upto 128GB, but that’s ridiculous!

Does anyone know if this 2GB limit affects Win XP32 Pro? I’m about to upgrade my 32 bit system to 4GB RAM with a Decklink Pro SD card (PCI 66MHz)

    Thanks.

  • But make sure you keep all the embedded projects in the sdame place afterwards…otherwise AE doesn’t know where to source them from. Annoying you can’t choose whether to ‘add’ them to your new project, rather then it just referencing them.

Maybe a new feature for CS3.5!?
Along with AE being able remember your source/render locations for individual projects, not just using the same for all…Now THAT would be nice!

  • Don’t know…read the specs on AMD website and compare them.

  • Pretty much the same as the Quad Xeon that’s been out for a while…more cores, more GHz = all good for AE! I think AMD chips might have more L2 cache than the Xeons (old Xeons), which means more RAM throughput I think. New Harpertown Xeons have more throughput too, but not sure if they’re out yet.

My thoughts aswell…it’d just be nice to have one though! I might try buy a secondhand Intel MacBook to run AE, etc when I’m on the move…can’t be any slower than this rubbish desktop I’m on at work! (See my sig..)

Does anyone know of any other uncompressed SD/HD pro res or similar capture solutions for a MacBook Pro, other than IOHD? (

    UPDATE: Finally sorted a stable config – DL 5.4 & QT 7.2.

Please do try to sort out a new version of the driver that works properly though! Do you still test for Premiere 2.0?

Aha! I tried one last ditch attempt at a working pairing of the DL driver and QT and it now works! (DL 6.4 + QT 7.2 if anyone else is having this problem)

I am NEVER upgrading drivers again!

Thanks for your advice though guys.

Cheers Jon, yeah I should have double checked it was safe to upgrade first…so difficult to gauge though on a PC when there’s so many variants – no system is the same!

I’ll try re-install Prem and see how I get on. Sigh…
