    Hey there

Basically ive got lots of projects all of say 5 second animations all of which needed to be linked nice and smoothly together. for instance theres a shot zooming out of a monitor, and i need to put one of the other shots inside the monitor as though it is a screensaver. and then i want to do some camera movements, quickly panning across to see the next shot….can anyone give any tips on how to best do this?

…should i import all projects into one? should i render out each shot at a quality so it doesnt loose any and then import? i probably havent planned this the best way possible….but hey its a learning curve right?

This is actually probably the hardest bit im gonna have to do….

I need to link them so it properly looks like its zooming out of the monitor then the building then to earth. i watch the andrew kramer tut, but not sure if it applies here as this is all done with a 3d camera…any ideas would be greatly appreciated to get a smooth camera zoom out.

ok well i uploaded that clip but ti doesnt seem to be worknig…im confused as its up on my site….but anyawy maybe u can get the idea?

    cheers

You can import an .aep file into a project, it will import all of the compositions and footage from the .aep and put them in a folder in your project pane.

You can then work with the compositions/footage from that project in your current project.

But make sure you keep all the embedded projects in the sdame place afterwards…otherwise AE doesn’t know where to source them from. Annoying you can’t choose whether to ‘add’ them to your new project, rather then it just referencing them.

Maybe a new feature for CS3.5!?
Along with AE being able remember your source/render locations for individual projects, not just using the same for all…Now THAT would be nice!
