    Hello,
we have several Supermicro X6DAE-G2 motherboard based systems equipped with Blackmagic Design Decklink HD 4:4:4 PCI-X card. They were running well for a year or more under Windows XP SP2 and 2GB of RAM installed. Now I tried to upgrade one of them with Windows XP 64bit edition and add more RAM. But: I have found out that when I add more than 2GB (4 or 8GB, installing pairs of 2GB modules) our Blackmagic card is not recognised by Windows. It runs only when 2GB and no more are present. I tried to install BM card to 133MHz and 100MHz PCI-X slots with the same result.
We have bought Kingston modules which are recommended by Supermicro site (KVR400D2S4R3/2G)
Supermicro suport is saying following “Please check with blackMagic manufacture to see they have any suggestion. I have no clue what is wrong. Update the memory shouldn

Had exactly the same problems with XP_x64.

Blackmagic told us to reduce our memory to 2GB – which we did and it worked.
Have been hoping that the new series of drivers – 6.6.xx will fix this.
Have been running decklinks with Sony Vegas so there are other issues with the driver and compatibility, so haven’t been able to take the memory back up to 4GB to find out whether this now works.

    You are not alone!!!

    Hi,

We had this problem as well back in June when we built our new machines with 8GB ram.

After some slow discussion with BM tech support, it transpires the situation is quite simple, if annoying.

On XP64 with more than 2GB RAM, the only Deckoinks which will work are apparently all HD models, and only the SD with PCIe (PCI Express) connection – WITH DRIVER VERSION 6.3 or higher.

The older SD cards with PCI ports will not work as the hardware simply will not allow it.

We are upgrading to PCIe versions of their cards.

Does anyone know if this 2GB limit affects Win XP32 Pro? I’m about to upgrade my 32 bit system to 4GB RAM with a Decklink Pro SD card (PCI 66MHz)

    Thanks.
