When you bring it into FCP you can select your audio channels and even video channel if you want. Second tab in logging window

The meter can still be useful for lighting ratios but for actual exposure the ultimate decision is inside the camera which you can already see with the zebras. The days of having to have one to nail your film exposure and then waiting for processing to see if you had are thankfully long gone.
Setting your key, fill, back ratios can be done by meter if you need that level of setting and don’t want to eyeball it.

Thanks Gary, that is a great idea. I hear the dust can be brutal on gear in Nevada too. I guess wrapping the camera for the dust doesn’t really help the heat issue.

You will need to add a variable ND filter for your lenses. The build of the 50 1.8 is really cheap although the image is okay. The 1.4 focus ring would be better for video work. Focusing from the rear window alone is difficult in daylight. Available finders are really useful for that.
