T2i transcoding
Posted by Rusty Shackleford on October 15, 2010 at 10:47 pmIs there any software for log & transfer but can automatically remove the left channel of audio and perhaps duplicate the left?
Or is there an easy way to automate that?Rusty Shackleford replied 15 years, 7 months ago 3 Members · 7 Replies -

October 17, 2010 at 5:00 pmYeah I know about that way, but I can deselect the right channel one by one. I can’t select all the clips and uncheck the right channel of audio.
Is there a script I could use for FCP or automator workflow?

October 17, 2010 at 9:02 pmThey are probably in stereo mode. Deselect stereo and then you can treat left and right separately and do want you want with the right channel.

October 18, 2010 at 6:34 pmIf you use the Canon E1 plugin for FCP you can select how the audio is and what channels of audio to embed in the new movie file.
For T2i users the plugin has to be modified but it is a super easy modification, I just did it to the new version of the update and works great.

October 18, 2010 at 7:27 pmI know how to do it in FCP. But I have a juicedlink so I only need the Left channel for all my clips.
I just shot a short film and there are 48GB of footage, that’s a lot of clips to go to one by one and deselect audio channels.
I can’t select all the clips, go to import settings, and deselect the right channel for all the clips at once.
I have to go to Clip 1, import settings, deselect left channel, then import, go to Clip 2, import settings, etc.Brandon Morris

October 19, 2010 at 2:36 amwish there was a way to set import prefs so I feel your pain. In the end you have to do what you have to do, all part of the editing gig. Either left them as 2 channel and then just unpatch the unwanted track in FCP or use the setting for each clip.

October 19, 2010 at 3:43 amI figured out a way, you select all the clips, go to import settings, mute left channel, then click apply to selection.
I don’t know how I missed this before.
