The best way to sync video to music is to first lay the music track on the timeline. Play the song and while you are listening to it hit the * key (this is the keyboard shortcut in premiere) to set a timeline marker to the beat of the bass drum. A typical song will produce 200-300 markers. Now you can begin to add your video clips to the timeline. Trim each clip to snap to the marker and now your final product will roll to the beat of the music.

If you have used the sony clip browser to transfer the footage on to your hard drive and then you deleted the footage from the sxs card then you can not use the clips in CS4, you have to use CS3 or possibly CS5 (I have not tried in CS5) but I know it works in CS3. For future shoots that run longer than an hour DO NOT use clip browser to transfer, just use windows explorer and MERGE the BPAV folders when it comes time to transfer the second card.

Because I was shooting an all day conference I was using the Sony clip browser to transfer footage from 2 16GB drives (57 min capacity)to 2 external hard drives for redundancy. Then I would delete the footage from the card and slide it back in to the EX-1. I’m not sure if the hour or more clips (spread over 2 cards) can be connected by just copying files in to a folder but I will try!

I have the same problem. I have to “edit original” in Adobe Soundbooth and Save As a WAV file. I then import the WAV and it usually plays the entire clip.

Well when I start a new project and import the same video clips as my current project with the missing MOTION tab, the MOTION tab is available. It seems like a slight bug but I dont think it requires a reload.

I have the Adobe HD-SDI Capture option but I get a “port error”. When I change the Device Control to DV/HDV then it says that my “Capture Device Offline” but I am able to rewind, ff and play my camera but I am unable to record.

I would like to have other project options but once I installed CineForm, my original Premiere settings have been removed. Any suggestions????

I did try the Export>Master to Tape>Render and Record on a clip that I had just imported with no effects and it still initiates the recording on the camera but it keeps recording beyond the 5 second clip until I manually press the stop button on the camera.

But when I click the button that says “Go Online for Device Info” it takes me to an Adobe Third Party-Hardware Compatibility and the V1U is not on the list. The HC1, FX1 and Z1U are on the list, is this the problem, Adobe doesn’t support the V1U yet?

It captures OK when I use Aspect HD plugin for Premiere and since I installed that Plugin, I dont see the previous Premiere HD options to capture (which I couldn’t get to work).
