All is rendered – no change before or after tape out. Pretty much a flat file I am outputting to tape.

I’m sure other’s will add to this .. but why stay in DV… upres to your master timeline before you bring in graphics.. I would suggest running graphics and your timeline at no less than uncompressed D1 4:2:2, and output to digibeta, or soemthing better.. in teh HD land….. Going S-Vid to SP is runnning an analog out..

jaggies, etc, I presume are coming from DV format in AE.. and/or the analog output path. It would be best to upres to ProRes at the start of your project, you are not gaining anything by doing it at the end.

    just a few thoughts anyway.

November 10, 2009 at 6:37 pm in reply to: Timecode not at zero

You could set a sequence start time to 00:00 or whatever you need the start to be, run your clip in there, and make notes accordingly.

Not sure how to change TC in a QT Movie, so the source is always as it was when logged. You could make a ref. seq. and drop that in a new timeline, the code should stick then..?? Use that as source to edit to notes.

June 6, 2009 at 9:39 pm in reply to: How to manage AVCHD from Disk Drives not Camera

Hey, tanks Adrian, the Imagine product is a great, idea, forgot about that, I gather too that it may work on a pC based file capture system… and then still be able to mount or be organized on the Mac after shooting ends, and post starts..

    anxious to test this path.
    regards

Prety sure I have done that properly, and the files are greyed out, can’t transcode them. Is there a trick to how the folder structure of the top folder should be, or something i might be missing.

    thanks Tom

November 11, 2007 at 7:11 pm in reply to: Aja IO and the Panic AJ93 deck – Out of sync again

    Holly COW, Jeremy….

The Sys/pref – Playback offset was set to 4….

Putting it to “0” seems to fix it…

SO, that is a preset for adjusting the playback to go to an external monitor then….via AJA for example.

I wonder when or how that got changed…
