So, I have been exporting some 80 minute shows to DigiBeta with an AJA IO. The current sequence is a 4ch. output. Previous outputs spend but a few minutes writing a temp file and then going out to tape.

Currently system is spending about 40 minutes writing a PTVTmp File to the Render Folder. Why is this happening. Usually it only writes a short header and starts right up. I restarted, and relaunched FCP 7 and same.

All is rendered, settings are same as stereo version was. Any clue to why the systems needs to build such a large pre-roll file. It’s writen about 60 gig so far.

The need to render indicates that you have not fully rendered before edit to tape. Check your render settings in the render menu

All is rendered – no change before or after tape out. Pretty much a flat file I am outputting to tape.
