I figured it out with your help. You have to copy the spine with the settings and not the whole clip section. This MBP screen is so small you almost need a magnifying glass to read it. Hopefully the new FCP will let you increase the text/graphics size. Thanks for the assistance.

excellent tutorial. I’ve got the workflow down now. I’m new to color and it’s amazing what it can do. Thanks for the help Walter, David, and Stephen.

I can export the 40 sequences one time to compressor or do I have to do 40 exports one at a time into compressor (the only way I know how)?

I think I figured it out: highlight all the sequences in the bin and then export to compressor. Very cool, thanks.

Thanks Walter, that makes it a whole lot easier. I see the color renders are in the “color scratch” file, each file in a separate folder as “_g1.mov” filenames. I’m wondering if I can direct color to send all 40 clips to one folder with my choice of filename. I’ve looked for a setting to do that but it must be hidden pretty good. Thanks again.

Thanks for your input Rafael. Here’s what I’m doing.

    1) put 60 min. clip on timeline
    2) go to 30 min. mark and cut out, just for example everything between 30 min. and 35 min. (5 min. of video) with the razor/ripple delete
    3) The TC reader generated timecode reads 35:00 now while the timecode viewer reads 30:00. Why is that?

    Thanks.

Thank you very much. I tried the timecode viewer and it works better but as you cut clips up after applying it – it still does not match the “timecode viewer” the actual time count of the edit. What is your workflow?

I applied the timecode generator to a 1 hr. clip on the timeline. Works great. However, when I cut the clip up it wants to zero out and start counting again at the beginning of each clip. Is there any way to avoid this?

sorry, I missed the thread, this should go with monitor calibration.

The user manual on line as a calibration procedure using color bars. They refer to all kinds of buttons on the monitor but heck, my apple 27 inch cinema display is void of buttons. What to do? To make matters worse, it changes the brightness based on the ambient light. Anyone else using one of these?
