The problem is without simulated camera moves on the stills it is just a slide show. I’m not trying to replicate Ken Burns but even if I do a test with four or five stills with minimum movement and some just resizing for the 16×9 ratio still get the same problem. I tried to read the threads on other people’s questions about trying to import various formats into PrPro. The program just doesn’t seem to see the rendered files.I have cleaned cache and done other suggestions to no avail.

Thanks for joining in. Again, I may be very dense but right clicking on one of the Mp4 files gives me a pull down menu that includes interpret footage, reveal in Bridge with “source settings and sequence settings” grayed out. Clicking on properties gives XDCAM-EX
1920×1080 frame rate 29.97. No create sequence from the clip.

Thanks for the suggestion but can’t figure how to do it.As I understand it since PP 2 you must set up a sequence before you have a timeline and therefore you have to make a choice. The original video is 1920×1080 and I tried to use the “desk top” in the sequence pull down to see if that would do any better. Was able to type in 1920×1080 but the shot still comes in squashed vertically and with black bars of each side….very exasperating I’m an old DV and firewire guy so this is all new to me.

Jon thanks for the reply and sorry about the tardy response I was out a late shoot. First I’m not sure why Belarc is showing only 2 gigs of RAM…there are 4gigs in the system.

The project is a short trailer(less than seven minutes) which in itself is a recut of a previousl version which I have up on YouTube for potential funders.

That project worked swimmingly, went thru Encore for DVD’s and was my first edit on the system since upgrading from Pro 2 to CS4.

If you believe the processor is critical I could do that but I am wondering about an uninstall and reinstall with Adobe’s registry cleaner….or…as a last resort, uninstalling and going back to my trusty PP2.
As I’m sure it is very obvious by this point, I’m not very technically sophisticated….Producer, DGA director who started back when we used to cut 2 inch with a miscroscope and has by force of economic circumstance become one-man-band-production company. By the way does that error message ring a bell?

I’m woefully ignorant about the granding and colorizing process but as I remember the quick conversation, the post house guy said that
Quicktime provided more “latitude” for grading? Does that make sense?
