Exporing Quicktime with Media Encoder
Have a two camera shoot of a dance company and one cam is a stop or so darker than the other. Talked to a colorist to get a quote for colorizing and he asks that I send a sample of both cams in Quicktime DVDvPro resolution. When I finished with the Adobe Media Encoder and looked at the result @720×480 it looks terrible…soft focus etc. Looks nothing like an .avi movie of same footage…will this Quicktime give him what he needs, I’m reluctant to send such bad looking footage.

If it’s just a sample, then couldn’t you just send it using H.264 or a codec that looks better to you?

I’m woefully ignorant about the granding and colorizing process but as I remember the quick conversation, the post house guy said that
Quicktime provided more “latitude” for grading? Does that make sense?Jim Crum
