what i do is this: make an empty folder titled “unused” in the project panel. highlight the project panel. go to “edit” and hit “remove unused”. then do “undo”. all your unused files will be highlighted. drag them into the “unused” folder.
now whats left is the panel with used files and a folder with unused.

what if you were to place a cut thru all layers 1 second or so before the second effect comes in.?

You could use “Change To Color” . I use it all the time.

Drop your movie on the timeline, add Lumetri color. Drop Whites down to minus 20 or so and you will see your masks. Bring up Lumetri Scopes and you will see the difference in white levels on the scope display. Now delete Lumetri Color. Try this: Drop “VIDEO EFFECTS/LEVELS” onto your clip. Bring RGB White Output down to 200. Output your movie. Bring that movie back into the timeline and apply Lumetri and bring down Whites again. See if the hard mask lines are gone.

i wonder if it might be a drop frame/non-drop frame time code issue.

key out the top part with a luma key and crop it down to the green. then on another layer pull a green key and crop it.

at times i will type text with no background and save it from the program panel using the “camera” icon and save it as a PNG and click on the “import into project” check box. that way i have a hard copy of it.

i don’t. i just fiddled with settings and finally got there. i set extrusion depth to 80. then fiddled with lights and such to get the look you want. Then go to BUILT IN CAMERA/CAMERA POSITION Z. make that value -3.

You might be able to buy just that “unit” but probably not. They like to sell you a blob of effects per unit.
