  • How do you Change the Color of an Illustrator File in Premiere Pro?

I have a logo brought into my project as an .ai file.
Back in AE, I was able to change the color with the Fill Effect.
But I can’t find an equivalent in Premiere Pro.
Is there a way to generate a solid color over an Illustrator in Premiere?

You could put a Color Matte on one track and the AI file on another, and use Track Matte Key on the color matte pointing to the track with the AI file. To make that less clunky to work with, nest those two clips together.

Or hey – if you have the full CC subscription, open the file in Illustrator. ????. Just kidding – I can see the need for being able to change it from within Premiere.

You could use “Change To Color” . I use it all the time.

Thanks, I’ll look into this. I’m more of an After Effects guy so there’s a lot to get used to here in PPRO.

I did find the Change to Color effect but it doesn’t seem to do anything. But, since you’ve said you use it all the time, I’m sure I’m just not using it correctly. At least now I have a lead. I’ll research this effect now. Thanks!

    Ah, Eureka! A winner!
I got the Change to Color effect to work when I Change: Hue, Saturation & Color. The default settings didn’t do anything so that’s why I was stumped.

Thanks again. This is exactly what I was looking for.
