Then that is when they should have released FCPX, when it is completely ready. They threw something together trying to keep up with the marketplace, but have too many irons in the fire and at this point in the competition needed to be very different.

Right now FCPX one is a no brainer, someday it may be a pro editing platform again.

I had this same problem 6-months ago. FCP does not support the multi-cam feature with the Pro-Res timeline.

Thank You, Thank You………did exactly as you suggested and everthing is much better now, I will definately manage my data assets better and will create reference movies from now on.

The problem is the whole contents equals 12GB. How am I supposed to send that to another editor? As I see it the only options I have are to copy the entire file to another hard drive to send or to send the original card and that means I will have to back up 5 days of shooting on my computer also.

Do you see any other options?

On the SDHC card there are two folders, a AVCHDTN folder and a BDMV folder. I selected the BDMV folder and opened it to view Clipinf-index.BDM-MovieOBJ.BDM-Playlist-Stream. I opened the stream folder and there were 6 files there labeled 00000.MTS, 00001.MTS, 00002.MTS and so on. I copied three files to a Data DVD which amounted to 4.1GB of files on the DVD. After burning I opened the DVD and copied one of the files to my hard drive. Then opened FCP and tried to import this file, I couldn’t. So I opened Log and Transfer and tried to import this file, I couldn’t.

Have I copied the wrong files?

Capture preset should be Pro Res 422

Sequence preset should be Pro Res 422

Sorry but I’m not getting it. Your saying I should copy the BDMV folder off the SDHC card to a Data DVD for another editor and he will be able to transfer these files into his FCP system?

So if I have to back up these files on a Data DVD what file format would be the best to preserve the quality?

Better yet what if I had to send these files to another editor on a Data DVD, what would be the recommended file?
