HMC 150 SDHC backup
Posted by Jerry Vogt on September 1, 2009 at 1:46 amCan I copy the BDMV folder off the SDHC card to a Data DVD?
I’m trying to find a way to get the file off the SDHC card to give them to another editor in another state?

September 1, 2009 at 2:08 pmSure it’s just data- you can copy it any place it will fit.

September 1, 2009 at 10:16 pmOn the SDHC card there are two folders, a AVCHDTN folder and a BDMV folder. I selected the BDMV folder and opened it to view Clipinf-index.BDM-MovieOBJ.BDM-Playlist-Stream. I opened the stream folder and there were 6 files there labeled 00000.MTS, 00001.MTS, 00002.MTS and so on. I copied three files to a Data DVD which amounted to 4.1GB of files on the DVD. After burning I opened the DVD and copied one of the files to my hard drive. Then opened FCP and tried to import this file, I couldn’t. So I opened Log and Transfer and tried to import this file, I couldn’t.
Have I copied the wrong files?

September 2, 2009 at 2:44 pmThe problem is the whole contents equals 12GB. How am I supposed to send that to another editor? As I see it the only options I have are to copy the entire file to another hard drive to send or to send the original card and that means I will have to back up 5 days of shooting on my computer also.
Do you see any other options?

September 2, 2009 at 3:48 pmFlash stick, hard drive, etc. C’mon- 12GB is nothing in 2009.
