And Apple just started selling the entire Adobe CS5.5 Create Suite.

Previously I believe they only sold After Effects.

oh righto. well then, I’m sort of inclined to think that both actions are as a result of a cupertino meeting today.

Note that they haven’t returned FCS2009 to the Store.
The support area only lists FCS2 update.
ProApp update 2010-2 is available for FCS2009 though.

It’s a start, a small start, restoring FCS to the sales channel and guaranteeing operability and updates in conjunction with the OS through Lion or over the next 36 months would be the next logical step.

Then they can move onto fixing FCPX, restoring the functionality lost, having a think about exposing the multitrack functionality which lies hidden underneath the trackless timeline, have a think about the viewer and all that stuff, and then, once they’ve done all that, then and only then can we stop kicking them and they can have a little sit down and a rest.

Two things Apple ought to do today is reinstate selling box sets of FCS 3.0 and the update from 2 to 3 of FCS along with a state of the union address from Steve Jobs to the video industry.

I am still incredulous over what Apple has done to the film industry. Leave it at that.

Also, FCE updates still missing (only v2 – 2004 available now)

Yeah, why only FCP Studio 2? Maybe they will bundle the 3 upgrade (for those who need it) with a free license of FCP-X as incentive to try it out in it’s glorified beta release state. Now that would be offering your customer something truly worth their while.
