Mike that seems even more stange but not uncommon for Microsoft. I appreciate your suggestion and will try that since I current have version 10+ now.

If you have not already resolved your issue, you may be able to find the update on the Sony site. I used Vegas up through 7 then switched to PPro. Vegas is a great package and I have heard that 8 is a major overhaul. Best of luck.

Naturally, I found the second clip–big difference. Great way to illustrate the effect!

  • Mike,

I searched and found the Shadow/Highlights effect which had a great deal of effect on eliminating the blowout and worked quite well. Thanks for this valuable suggestion.

Perry–A fix for the fix–ya gotta love it..

One person in the Adobe forums told me that he had been advised by Adobe support to completely remove the entire suite, flush all traces with the Adobe removal tool then reinstall. I was about to do that when I read your comment. Thanks!!

I am so glad that you had the same issue (but sorry you had the problem) as I was thinking maybe something is corrupt on mind end but everything seemed to work too well to indicate any issues. Thanks for sharing the comments from your source as well. Now I think I will wait for a “fix for the fix.

Thanks again for sharing this with me.

  • Mike,

I was unable to find a Shadow/Highlights effect that you suggested. I would like to try this but is this effect part of or under another one? Could you please clear this up for me?

    Thanks

The update is downloadable as a stand-alone file. Go to Adobe downloads then PPro CS3 then look for updates. I am pretty sure that is where I found it. If you can’t find it post a note back here and I will dig again.

I installed the update patch for PPro CS3 but it fails during the update stating that I need to reinstall PPro. Lovely! I did and it makes no difference, even more lovely since it took almost an hour. Many others have installed the update wtth no issue and still others have reported that noting will work after the programs are patched. That’s scary! The auto-update will update Encore and other programs without any issues for me but will not work with PPro CS3. Got any suggestions??

    Mike,

Thanks for your reply. Wouldn’t it have been nice for Adobe to have extended the same capability offered with AE to PP CS3 since PP is their flagship NLE?

    Just my thoughts.
