    Mac OS 10.3.9 Media 100iXR 8.2.2 RED

I purchased the RED DVD set and found it very informative too. I set the dvd in a player and monitor separate from my computer so I could work along with the lessons. It wasn’t presented in Media 100 though.

The tutorial that came with Media 100 originally certainly got me started. But I would like a Part 2 version where some advanced features and short cut techniques could be explored.

I upgraded to XR and have not used any of its features. I would benefit from a tutorial on XR and audio enhancement in general.

But maybe Webcasts would also be a way to present the information.

I would probably buy an intermediate to advanced tutorial and certainly an audio tutorial.

Looking closer at the error message it listed where it came from.

I went to the Mac HD: Library Application:Support:Adobe: Web

I dragged the Web folder to the trash and no more error message.

I should have done this a long time ago.

Thanks for your response. As this is the first project I have done like this, I ama having a hard time determining how to give them a price bid. I plan on doing an example with 5-6 examples just to try it out and see how long it takes me.

Any ideas of how to price something like this?

    Thanks,

This is a blurp off the box:

“The Canopus features high-quality image enhancement technology including digital noise reduction and image stabilization using Line Time Base Correction (LTBC), the ADV300 instantly cleans, stabilizes and preserves old VHS and Hi8 videos in clean DV format.”

I run the connections through Canopus ADVC-300. It provides many controls for improving the signal/image. I can adjust contrast, brightness, visual and audio noise as well. I am not an expert, but I can sure see a big difference in the quality compared to just digitizing directly into Media 100. You can check out their products and differrent models on their website.

  • Thank you so much!! What a time saver.

What I did in the meantime was mastered the program to tape then I digitized it back in to a bin, put it on the timeline, edited and then mastered back out to tape again.

I noticed that it looked a bit dark and contrasty though. So, when I followed your directions and imported the original rendered file for editing, I compared the quality of the two versions. The edit from the original was much better so I mastered it to tape for the final.

    thanks again,

  • One other thing.
I wanted to edit out a few seconds in several spots. When I try to plit a composition to cut out something I will lose the entire transition and have to re-render again.
I guess I should have edited first and then treated each section as a seperate flip and render.
    any other comments on this?

    thanks!
