If this is because of the Red patent, that kinda blows. Or maybe it’s not because of R3D. Perhaps ProRes RAW is too expensive or something. Either way, seems like it’s going to be harder to implement a ProRes RAW workflow outside of a complete Apple finishing system, or Baselight or Scratch.

With FCPX open, and with all libraries closed (so open a “good” library and then choose File > Close Library) choose File > Open Library > From Backup, and then choose a version of your “bad” library that worked, which is probably the one right before it stopped working.

  • Completely depends. Green screen can be good or bad. There’s an app for iOS that includes tracking markers and green screen. Sometimes, I find it best to use white and roto the fingers as that way you have a lot less spill on the fingers. But if the fingers are doing more complex moves, it can complicate the roto. I also like to sometimes composite any reflections back on the screen if it makes sense. That’s more difficult to do with a green screen, and sometimes a black screen is best for that. It really depends on what you need to do and the environment that the phone will be in.

Motion doesn’t even import fcpxml! 🙂

X2Pro was updated today to accept the new format.

I guess I am curious as to what programs or applications will use the tracking data?

And it is only tracking data that gets exported, or what else will get exported that’s not in the XML normally?

As Frank says, reset your prefs. Also, what plugins, if any, do you have installed and are they up to date?

You had the position tool selected (“p” key). That allows to you put a gap in the primary without rippling the rest of the timeline.

Selection Tool (‘a’ key) allows rippling. You can toggle those back and forth depending on what your timeline intentions.

You have to open the audio effects panel and apply the effect.

Command-5 should show/hide the effects panel.

If you’re on a full keyboard, hit the home key.

If you’re on a smaller keyboard, it’s function left arrow.
