What are the audio clips named?

Try selecting smaller batches and see if those relink.
Try dragging and dropping files in instead of relinking.

What version of fcpx are you using?

Try moving your cache to the SSD.
That should free up some bandwidth for the footage.

If you use blade all, just map it to ‘b’. Select in point, hit b, select out point hit ‘b’, decide your fate from there.
The thing to remember about fcpx is that it doesn’t work like tracks work. There are some commonalities, there are some differences. Figuring out how the timeline “moves” takes a while. At a certain point, it clicks, and you may find that there are many efficiencies to be gained. Or not.

“First, the images in your post are now fixed. in the future, simply drag and drop your pictures to the post window and the cow will make automatic links.
Second, map a key to “Blade”. I use ‘b’. Lasso the clips you want to blade, place your playhead here you need to blade, then hit blade. This will cut all the selected clips, but nothing else. Alternatively, you can hit the “blade all” command (I have it mapped to command-b). This will cut all clips under the playhead.
Then hit w to insert.
Once you get the hang of it, it’s very fast.

Right click in the viewer to get crop, distort, and position tools.
There also keyboard shortcuts listed next to the tools in that same drop down.
