Final Cut Update
Posted by David Mathis on November 15, 2018 at 6:13 pmSo, it looks like there will not be version 10.5 anytime soon but there is a very nice update that just came out today.
Motion is going to have additional color grading tools. No built in mask tracking or better mask tools for color grading this round. However, there are very nice features in this update!

November 15, 2018 at 6:33 pmGiven some of these are very nice improvements rather than a bug fix with a few tweaks, I’m going to have to imagine that 10.5 is going to be really big. My guess is they’ll get a preview (with NDA ????) at the Creative Summit for a very big upgrade in the first half of next year. At least my fractured crystal ball tells me that.

November 15, 2018 at 6:46 pmCant see the update here in the UK yet, not exactly an earth shattering update but it’s something.
As Craig said 10.5 next year – at the same time as the new Mac Pro?

If this keeps up I’ll only be able to run FCP5 legacy on my PPC PowerMac Tower. -

November 15, 2018 at 8:15 pmNot all, but a nice batch. (Pun intended.)
The big news appears to be the fashion in which they have allowed developer hooks directly into X.
Watching the Frame.IO integration video appears to show a truly integrated approach that is way more than a third party window, and more an extension of the software itself to residence inside inside the app itself.
It will be interesting to see if it works as smoothly as the intro video implies.
