So this is awesome. I hope we can dock the window in the Event Browser one day, but for now, this is a killer feature that I miss from the Adobe panels in Ae/Pr when working in FCPX.
General FCPX performance seems to be on point as well!
I don’t know what the rumored 10.5 was supposed to be, but there are some real workflow enhancements in this update, (Comparison Viewer, Timecode, better selection tools, and finally, finally a batch share!!!!)
All this and I haven’t even explored the new Comic filter, yet.

Not quite sure yet, but there’s also been updates to MXF file reading which is great. I know you work with XAVC a lot (so do I) and it’s much better.

Wow. Actual visual timecode of all clips playing on the timeline.
I missed this feature so much.
It seems that FCPX caches all the Projects when you open the Library now, so it gets that long annoying process out of the way first, which is nice.
OK, time to test frame.io!!!!

Indeed the end of an era.
There was an actual moment there where it was all on the line, free from groupthink. It was was quite fun; a unique gash in time, to be able to talk as an adult about the state of things. Straight-up feedback was expected and encouraged. I felt lucky, almost as if I happened upon a room full of smart people talking about things I was interested in. I was fortunate enough to be invited in and allowed to sit down, even for a ‘short’ time and participate in discussions that were punching way above my weight.
Yes, it got prickly at times, but I thought most of us could handle ourselves. Franz B, whose existence was the most meta debate of it all, flew under the radar by by providing an obscure alias, subverting the can’t-be-a-stranger rules that are in place here. And it was Franz B that showed us that the moment had passed, the litmus turned red. It’s unfortunate that we can’t seem to self correct and keep it on the topics, not on the personalities.
I hope the archive gets to remain, even if the content gets a little sticky at times, the overall takeaway is pretty interesting.
Aindreas, you have an admirable way with words, sir. Every time you write, there’s something to ponder. Your comments and posts were a big reason to keep coming back. I hope whatever the next iteration of this page becomes, it’s interesting enough that you still hang around and participate.

But at that point in time, if you listen to camera A and camera A’s audio, is the audio in sync with the video? Or is the audio out of sync on the camera recording (not the console recording).

FCPX allows you to change interpretation on the settings in the inspector (select the clips, open inspector, choose “Settings” from the drop down menu at the bottom of the inspector window, and look for Alpha settings).
Also, sometimes a preview will look a little fuzzy, and a rendered timeline will clear it up.

So make multiple multiclips and see if it keeps sync?
Just to reiterate, all video clips are in sync with themselves right?
Meaning you can watch any single clip and the audio is in sync with the video?
