That’s because it’s not rendered and you are looking at an rt preview. Make sure all of the options are checked in your sequence > render selection and render all menus. Most importantly make sure the ‘full’ option is checked and then hit render all (option-r).

Actually, you want the most performance to go to your media drives. Put your Atto card in slot 4, and the kona sd in slot 3. I’m afraid that since there’s only one bus sharing slots 2&3 your DLT card might have to go in another computer (keep it in the one it’s in now and do your DLT masters/backups from there). I’m not sure if the Kona SD card is PCI-X, if it’s not it’s going to slow the bus down to 66mHz and then you will have some competition between your DLT and the Kona.

You have to calibrate it to match the offset. how much is it off? I just did this this morning for a downconverted layoff from my K2 to a uvw 1800 through an io for the d/a conversion. I laid off a scrap copy, figured out it was 4 frames off as I set my timeline and the first frame of the spot to start at 1:00:00:00, b&t started at 58:40:00 with 10 second slate and 10 second countdown. Tape timecode started at 58:20:00 to leave 20 seconds of black before the b&t, marked the program to go in at 58:40:00 to match my timeline. I changed my playback offset to +4 frames to start 4 frames early. Worked like a charm and proceeded to lay off two more masters that were spot on accurate.

Is the source footage of the DVD PAL? Perhaps that’s why your DVD player can’t read it.

Use Streamclip’s recommendation for using upper field first. It’s counterintuitive, and doesn’t make sense, but it works. notice how it says, use upper for all codecs except dv? Follow their advice.

The other editor in the suite got one for his machine, and when i use it, it squeaks when you double click it (add your favorite mouse pun here)____________.

Literally, it’s like it needs a little WD40. That’s good for the optics…ain’t it? Also, since there are now two buttons (or rather two sides) I seem to always click the right side when I don’t need it. There’s not enough tactical separation from left side and right side. The little scroll button is really kick bootie, though and I have no qualms about that. i wouldn’t trade my wacom tablet in for the world, it’s much better for my needs.

I’d wait for the mightier mouse.

Select he clip and hit option-l this will “de-stereoize” it :^) The clip should now be mono.
