Remember to also set how many levels of undo (up to 99 I believe) you have in user preferences. What’s worse than not having an undo cue? Running out of undoos.

Perhaps the media100 codec is not compatible with your version of quicktime.

You do have the osftware versiion of the m100 codec installed, no? If not, get it, otherwise it looks for M100 hardware.

What codec are you capturing to? What kind of performance are you getting on your drives? Dropped frames usually indicates the drives can’t keep up with the information you are throwing at them.

Do you have a deck you can try and digitize from?

Try sending it audio from any other source other than the console to see if it works there.

It sounds like you have everything set up correctly to me. You might want to send a blackburst or composite reference from the switcher to the ref in if possible. Check for the newest firmware and drivers. Also, you should try uninstalling and reinstalling the latest drivers. If none of this works, I’d call AJA and see what they say, you might have a bum box. If that is the case they will send you an advanced replacement right away. Good guys/gals over at the AJA camp.

I’ve seen this before with audio files. Somehow FCP holds on to render files and doesn’t want to let go. The way to trick it is to disable then reenable the clip below the blue bar. The keyboard shortcut to do this is control-b. ANother way is to use the render manager in the tools menu and delete the render files and that should get rid of it as well.

Try trashing your preferences. It should get rid of it.

To follow up to what Kevin says, go into ‘sequence > render selection’ menu and make sure that ‘full’ is checked. Please do the same for ‘sequence > render all’. Then you need need to hit option-r (or render all) and render all of your clips. What resolution are you working in? If you are working in DV, make sure that in your motion tab for the titles that the Y value of the center position is on an even and whole number. If your center value looks something like 2,128.1, change it to 2,128. Fix that, rerender and post back.

Looks like fields to me. this is loosely explained, but you should remember if you have 3:2 pulldown on your footage the 2 ‘jitter’ frames that you see are a combination of the full (progressive) frames surrounding them. Thanks for the picture as it gives a great frame of reference, rather than trying to guess as to what you are seeing.

Please give more info. DO you have capture hardware? Are you using DV/firewire? Are you talking about the upgrade from 5.02 to 5.03 or are you talking a full upgrade from panther to tiger and qt 6 to 7?
