November 2, 2005 at 4:03 amPlease give more info. DO you have capture hardware? Are you using DV/firewire? Are you talking about the upgrade from 5.02 to 5.03 or are you talking a full upgrade from panther to tiger and qt 6 to 7?

November 3, 2005 at 4:35 pmI am having major issues with capturing. FCP 5 tells me there are timecode breaks where none exist. I am new to FCP and am starting out with v.5. I am trying to capture a segment that is a continuos shot without starts or stops. Dan and David were talking about this in a july thread and suggested several things to check. The problem was not isolated to any certain equipment except for FCP. The solution at that time was to change the User preferences to “Warn after capture”. has any other solution been found?
I tried for 2 days to capture a clip and could not get past the first 10 seconds. This does the same thing when trying to capture a clip and when trying to use Batch Capture. I played with all the settings and tried to trouble shoot. When i found Dan & David’s thread I had done everything they suggested I check. I am using a Sony DSR-80 DVCam deck thru a Matrix switcher to an AJA IO LA box and into the Mac G5 with firewire. I have a Dual G5 with an outboard G-Raid 500 Gig drive. I am not running Tiger because of Media100. I finally quit the FCP project and went back to the Media100 and the segment captures flawlessly. Am i doing something wrong? Can you help me, I would appreciate your wisdom. Thanks
