I believe that was done w/ a 3d program (such as Maya, Lightwave, Blender (Free) or a bunch of other options). It *COULD* be done in AE.. but I don’t think it’d be quick or easy.. you’d have to build your logo out of 3d layers, parent them all to a null so they stay put in the shape you want, then edit the null to fall and bounce manually (although there *MIGHT* exist a script to help with falling/bouncing, not sure though).

I hope this helps even a little.

The particles look like the snow plugin with a big blur filter of some sort..

as for your HD yeah that’d scare the crap out of me. Sounds like it’s massively overheating – in your position, I’d offload everything off of that asap and scrap it. Just me though..

I might be a bit off on my information, but I have noticed an issue on the Centrino systems..

My tower (which I do most of my work on) Is an Intel Core2Duo, it’s the same speed and has the same memory as my laptop but its faster. (laptop is a Centrino core2duo).

My only other differences is the tower has xp and the laptop has vista. This may or may not be a contributing factor. (Theyre both 32bit).

Was gonna suggest that myself, he just aired it a day or two ago. Should work perfectly 🙂

*grin* It’s the best I can do for now. But hoping to have some money shortly, any recommendations in the $500-750 range?

Have him make a 30 second commercial or teaser or trailer or something that represents something your company does (or something that he’d be using it for in his job).

The best way to see if he can do what you’re expecting him to do with AE is to give him a sample project. If he pulls it off awesome, just make sure he always keeps learning new things. If he can’t pull it off – well hehe that’s up to you what you do from there 🙂

    Hope that helps.

    HAHA NOPE!

I got me a pair of 1989 Quasar VHS Camcorders and a USB video capture card that can do 720 res 😀 I are poor 🙁

Heck I’m still using my roomie’s copy of CS3 while he’s off in the Airforce >.>

When I have a couple hundred $ saved up though, I’ll be getting some kind of HDV came (perhaps the one you mentioned).. want something that can do 1080 and not give me a heartattack when I try to bring it into AE.
