    Jason,

That was a good tutorial. I gave you a thumbs up.
I know it doesn’t matter here, but you misspelled Phantom.

    Keep up the good work.

    Sam,

Using all native Vegas Pro tools there are three elements here.

The text which is expanding. Can be done with track motion.
The flash-line which is a white solid with a mask that quickly reduces it to a line that has a gausian blur on it.
The text and line do a long fade
And the black background, which is a solid.

It looks much cooler with the sound effects.

I put a .veg file here.

Capture your video at a high bitrate (>6 Mbps) MP4 or MP2. You will have more success with that. How are you capturing this?

Divx (and xvid) are not editing formats, they are delivery formats. Try converting them to something else.

I’m really interested in what you have to say about this, Steve. Are you going to install it? Keep us posted here on your experience. I want to know if it crashes within moments please.

September 26, 2012 at 3:02 am in reply to: How to do this effect in Vegas Pro?

    Sam,

That’s a really fast slide show being controlled by a parent track. Look up parent track motion and you will see all you need to get it done. It’s really easy!

Basically, you put your stills and motion bits on child tracks and once you have the sequence you want you use the parent motion to control the zoom.
