It all depends on the parameters given to the codec. They are very complicated.

If you could get the timing right where the last frame almost matches the first then you could create a subclip and stretch it out as long as you want. But all this is done within Vegas, so I don’t quite follow your meaning.

I don’t think 11 will fix this problem. I have never seen it in any version. Are you sure the file on the external drive is good? Does it do the same thing on all external drives? On all .wav files?

It is probably a 32 bit plugin. Even if you install it in both program files directories a 32 bit plugin will not show up in 64 bit. Use the 32 bit version for projects that require this plugin. You can also use the Pan/Crop tool, just right click the image and choose “Flip Vertical”

    Dave,

This just in… FFMPEG supports now 10bit ProRes HQ de- & encoding (422) https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/20/868372

Prores 444 is possible on the PC but there seems to be some unresolved color shifting issues in some file types.

Along with a GUI to make things easier. https://www.stuudio.ee/anothergui/

And these guys have made it very easy for the Vegas user by making a script to generate batch files, encode them, then add the prores files to the timeline. https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/951534
I hope this works like it does in the movie.

I want some time to play with this and see some results, just too busy!
If you look into this, please let me know what you think.

  • Using MediaInfo, I can’t find any differences that would cause your proble. It probably has to do with the old computer having had klite installed on it.

    Sorry,

    Ron,

I’m sorry I thought you were using the Sony AVC. I prefer the Sony AVC codec, probably because I’m pretty simple minded.

I don’t have much experience with the MC AVC, but it should not have memory problems. Does the “Enable progressive download” option have any effect on the outcome? I don’t think I’ll be able to help you on this one.

  • Thanks Mike, I was on location when his post came through and could not answer.

Gary, just to re-iterate, don’t install a codec pack. I’m sorry if my mention of them could have been taken as a positive. See what you can do about sample files.

  • Ron,

Are you rendering an mp4 or an mpeg-2 transport stream. (check the system tab.)
