well I only have 6.5, so I am pretty much outta ideas…maybe try creating a comp with only the animated bkgnd. and see if that renders longer than 5 seconds and try to narrow down the problem.

Are you seeing this in the computer or on the monitor which you intend to view the final product on? If you are watching this on the computer, try putting it to tape/dvd and watch it on your TV first, sometimes it doesn’t look right on a comp screen.

Did you use a filter or de-interlace effect on them? If you did, maybe you text size is too small, try a larger size or making it bold.

try lowering your resolution settings to see if that changes anything.

Thanks for your help…for some reason the wording in the manual just didn’t make sense to me.

I am sure I will have many more questions in the future!

Okay, I was importing it as an asset and not a menu so that solved 50% of the problem..(I knew it was simple!)…as far as the (+) prefix, I just misread the instructions, so that had no bearing on the outcome regardless…thanks for pointing it out.

I don’t have Photoshop so that is not an option….yet….

So I have got it to work except one thing:
I want to use another text layer(created in AE) as highlight 1, but encore does not see the text layer, neither does it seem to work with still pics….Does encore only recognize solids as highlights?

    Timothy,

Thanks for your response!…let me clarify…

I am not using photoshop, I was actually referring to the PSD file that I exported from AE.

Yes, I am using the create button for encore DVD option in the layer menu in AE 6.5.

I have 3 layers, all of them text, all the same text just different colors.

I use the create button option and assign each highlight accordingly, then, I choose the Save frame as..option from the composition menu. And yes, I use the (+) prefix when saving.

I have tried both exporting from the single layer nested sequence as well as the original 3 layered sequence each time ending in frustration.

There has got to be something simple I am missing!

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff
whenever I import this as an asset into encore, it only sees it as one layer.

that’s perfect, so I can bring it straight into encore, right?

I have had that problem with DVD+R’s before…try using a DVD-R if you are not already. If you are, it may be just a bad disc, try burning it again using another disc from the same spindle. I have heard it is better to burn the DVD files to a hard drive folder, then use a burning program like Nero to actually burn the files to a disc, maybe that will work. Perhaps the most obvious thing to check would be to make sure your dvd burner supports the type of DVD you are trying to burn (for example your dvd burner may only burn up to 8x and you are using 16x dvds).

I have tried what you said, but I am using AE 6.0…should it be able to work w/ 6.0 too?

Thanks a million for the create subpicture info! (I am pretty new to Encore)
