I am new to afetr effects 7, but when I try using the preset animated backgrounds, they will render but only for 5 seconds? in a 30 sec clip they render for 5 secs then timeline continues but background has stopped any movement! I have tried looking for any settings for effect duration but cannot find anything that helps!
Sorry if this is a stupid question but it is doing my head in!

try lowering your resolution settings to see if that changes anything.

I have dropped the resolution down to quarter and it still makes no difference! the animation still only renders for 5 seconds and then becomes still for the rest of the clip!

well I only have 6.5, so I am pretty much outta ideas…maybe try creating a comp with only the animated bkgnd. and see if that renders longer than 5 seconds and try to narrow down the problem.

reveal the keyframes, and select them all, and then drag them out to as long as you want!

Thanks for that last post, I found that opening up the graph editor in the timeline and then holding down mouse button to create a box and select all the animation points then enabled me to extend the duration of the animation, funny it is only in the background animations that I had this problem!
