i have just done a set of titles and credits for a short film. the credits, which are just a white font on black and are not scrolling but just coming on as a series of stills, are giving a sort of jittery or flickering effect. is that something to do with the white being too bright ? if so what is the brightest grey that will work safely ? or is it just an opacity issue ? can i use the “broadcast colors” filter to fix this and if so what do i set the IRE to ?

Are you seeing this in the computer or on the monitor which you intend to view the final product on? If you are watching this on the computer, try putting it to tape/dvd and watch it on your TV first, sometimes it doesn’t look right on a comp screen.

Did you use a filter or de-interlace effect on them? If you did, maybe you text size is too small, try a larger size or making it bold.
