Thank you guys, I will definitely look into a gaffer first thing tomorrow morning. I agree that with the scope of this project I want it to look great. If that is what it takes…
The nice thing is that I have two of my main assistants booked the day in advance for a pre light day so we’ll have all of this worked out before the client comes on set the next day.
One week to work all of this out. I appreciate the help.
Jeff.

August 23, 2009 at 1:40 am in reply to: Convert Canon 5D Mark II 16:9 footage to 4:3 in FCP or CompressorThanks for the reply. I think that is what I am going to do. I will be shooting with a Ikan V5600 monitor so I hope that it will have 4:3 safe guides. If not I will tape off the sides of the monitor. Hopefully it wont come to that.
I am going to do some testing with converting the footage to 29.97 and placing the footage into a timeline with a 4:3 sequence like you mentioned and see how that works.
Thanks, Jeff.

April 19, 2006 at 11:47 pm in reply to: I need to capture a still image from my video for a newspaper write up at highest qualityBen…thanks so much man…we actually already did the quicktime grab…I was hoping that there was a better way…it’s exactly as you said…the quality isn’t there. Especially for me since I am more known for being a photographer. I actually took some PR shots myself but that was after the shoot with strobes and more geared for Print/Editorial needs…I hoped that they would want those since they look freakin’ awesome and they are 100mb 300dpi files…but they didn’t..of course…
hey man…thanks again for breaking everything down though…
have a good day, Jeff.

April 12, 2006 at 5:04 am in reply to: Rather URGENT question on exporting a file to work in Window Media Playerthats actually an interesting idea…would I be able to import my quicktime/windows media player file directly into Flash and convert it. Flash is the one freakin’ program that thought would be awesome to learn but never had a chance.
thanks, Jeff.
