Codec not found…Need help please.
Hello, I am working on a behind the scenes video for my studio and am running into a rendering issue that I am requesting help with.
We are editing together two separate formats that have been run through Compressor to match them up but they are still not playing nice.
The timeline is set at 30fps (but has also been tested at 29.97 and 23.976)
List of footage that has been imported:
1. Multiple screen captures of our monitors in the studio captured at 852×480. (No audio captured)
Time lapse videos captured from a DSLR camera then input into Quicktime and converted to an image sequence @ 10fps.
An AIFF audio file.We then ran all of the files through Compressor and converted everything to Apple ProRes HQ at 30fps. (Again, multiple frame rates tested to the same affect)
We even cropped (in Compressor) the Quicktime image sequence to the same 852×480 ratio.
When we place everything in the timeline and begin to edit it is fine. It is only when we need to render the footage together that we get the following pop up in FCP.
“Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card”.I have tried everything I can think of but to no avail. I have re-compressed and restarted this project four times now and am getting rather discouraged.
If someone else has run into this problem I would greatly appreciate any assistance in moving past this issue.
TWO ITEMS TO NOTE:
I’m not sure if this is important but we are speeding up the screen captures of us retouching in photoshop to 1200%.
The issue usually shows up when we place one ProRes file on top of the other and then try to resize them to show up side by side at the same time in the window. We even purchased the upgrade to Final Cut Studio 3 and installed it today but still no progress.
Again, I appreciate any help. I definitely need it.
Jeff.
