I believe things like scale, position, rotation, possibly PAR affect how a mask is copied over. My guess is the mask is essentially the same, just with different pos, scale, rot, or PAR. Double click the mask on the ship layer and tweak the handles until they match up with the map mask. Hope that helps!

Amazing work! I’m completely impressed. I should have CS3 soon so I can try it with shape layers, I’ve been work with solids/masks which I presume are fairly similar. I’ll try it soon and see if I’ve got any questions, great work though!

I would put the text in a pre-comp that is the exact same size as the layer used for the globe (including aspect ratio) Then apply the same filter to the comped layer and it should match up.

I’ve in the past used CC Page curl for this type of effect. Add two CC Page Curls and play with the settings. I imagine you could add some expressions to make things easier.

To make things move along a path create a mask path, then right-click the layer and go to Transform-> Auto-Orient -> Orient Along Path. Add a wiggle expression to get some variety in the paths

Copy the path, paste it on a layer.

Shift-select all the layers. Then do Shift-alt-page up/down.

or Shift-select all the layers, set your time position to where ever you want it to start and Shift-drag the layers over, it should snap.

Does saving as an EPS file change anything? I’m assuming your eye is checked on for that layer in AE and Il

You didn’t mention, but a Null layer is also in that list… A null is used to control a group of layers transformations. If you parent layers to a null the null defines things like position, rotation, and scale. Each layer retains it’s own position, rotation, and scale properties but it controlled by the null. It can’t use effects like an adjustment layer.

Go here and get the createProxies script, download it, pop it in your scripts folder, and restart AE. It’ll show up in File->Scripts

    https://www.nabscripts.com/Downloads/downloads_en_1.php?id=0#createProxies

Never used it but it looks like it should do what you need.

Get Unmult from here, it’s free. Should get rid of the background and let you export as alpha.
