As long as they are all based on the same title preset (basic, custom, whatever) you can select all the titles in the timeline index and change them all at once. So select all, turn on drop shadow, change the font, change the colour, etc, they’ll all change at the same time.

No I mean that I open Motion, create a new FCPX effect and publish the unsharp mask filter back to FCPX so I can use it there.

I’m told that Apple applied for the roles-based audio mixing patent in 2011 and I suspect they were waiting for the patent to be granted before we had any chance of seeing it implemented, so let’s hope it’s been a secret project for a while and we see something of it soon.
It’s a powerful concept and how useful it will be in FCPX would depend greatly on the user interface we get to go with it. Give me roles-based effects busses and faders and I’d personally have little need for Logic or Audition.
My last “I wish FCPX had…” box would be ticked.

That’s the workflow I’ve come to use. Key first, then create the multiclip, then edit. The nice thing is that if you need to re-key for any reason, you just need to replace the footage in the multiclip to update the edit.

What are you using as an adjustment layer? Have you tried a different adjustment layer? What effects are applied to it? What happens if you apply the adjustment layer over footage in a new project?
Just wondering if it’s the adjustment layer, or something applied to it that’s causing the colour shift.

I tested it with ProRes 422 LT. You are 100% right in that h.264 doesn’t support resolutions above 4k.
I’m wondering, apart from exporting a 1:1 master file which you’d want in ProRes anyway, do you need to create a h.264 at that odd size? If it’s not a standard 4k/HD/SD resolution, nothing’s really going to know what to do with it.

it sounds to me more like you’re hitting an issue with a video effect towards the end of the clip. Maybe you’re using something that isn’t 4k+ capable and it’s slowing the system down and crashing?
That’s just a random thought but might be worth taking look.

The widest was about 10k pixels but the height was only about 1k from memory.
I’m not sure how long a project you’re trying to output but I just tested 10 minutes at 5076 x 2160 and had no issues on my 2013 Mac Pro and my 2013 Macbook Air is at 60% and showing no signs of an issue either.
I wouldn’t rule anything out but I think it’s more likely codec or software than hardware if my Macbook Air is chugging happily along.
