Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Quick way to change title attributes to numerous titles at once

This might be an end around, but could you open the title in Motion, turn on the drop shadow with your specific values and then save as a new title? Then you could select all the titles in your project and double click the new title in the browser to replace all the old titles with the new one. Seems like that might work.

As long as they are all based on the same title preset (basic, custom, whatever) you can select all the titles in the timeline index and change them all at once. So select all, turn on drop shadow, change the font, change the colour, etc, they’ll all change at the same time.

Or, alternatively, you can apply Drop Shadow EFFECT from Stylize category to one title, tweak it, then copy and Paste Attributes just like any other effect.
    Hope that helps

    Hi Jeff,

That’s a good idea. I just would have to make three groups of subs, since, some are one, two or three liners.
Then it’s no problem. Will give it a try.
Otherwise, it’s the Drop Shadow Effect way.

    Thanx!

    Greetings,

    Sascha

    Hi Andy,

Interesting option. Wouldn’t have thought of that.
Will also give it a try.
    Thanx.

As long as it’s the same title, with the same controls, I don’t think it matters what the text is so one line or more shouldn’t matter.

    True that.
Will try it when I get to the Studio in half hour.

    Thanx.

    Sascha.

[Jeff Kirkland] “As long as it’s the same title, with the same controls, I don’t think it matters what the text is so one line or more shouldn’t matter.”

That’s exactly how to do it, yes. Select all, turn drop shadow on, done. By far the easiest and fastest. If you were looking to change FONT and/or SIZE, then it would of course matter if it had one or more lines of text (as in separate text wells) and different formatting. But even that would be possible the exact same way.

    Hi to all,

I went in the end with copy pasting the “Drop Shadow” Effect on all clips, since its appearance is closer to the AVID drop shadow, and
it was important to match it to films in the exhibition, that come from MC as well.
Thanx again for all the great ideas & suggestions!
