What version of compressor? Version 3.5 may not be able to do this. Version 4 can.

You could build one the way you like it and copy/paste right? No, there’s no way around Premiere Pro’s titler…but they do have templates as well (meaning you could get the look/etc you wanted.)
Haven’t looked @ Vegas in years…

Media Composer has a ‘different’ method of working with multiple effects.
See if there’s a BCC effect that does what you want. At the bottom there will be the choice for “Geometrics” as well as opacity.

QuickTime isn’t getting the flag that it’s 16×9 footage, with nonsquare pixels. Don’t know why. There’s always been an issue between AME and QuickTime fully communicating. If you hold down the shift key, you can manually fix QT…and you may be able to manually adjust it- but you might need the QuickTime 7 install (and it may have to be pro.)

Why not encode as a h.264 from AME? This will correct any sort of aspect ratio as the end product will have square pixels.
In encore, you need to bring in the media and throw the switch in the inspector that says “16×9”. All DVDs hold video at SD sizes…but get a flag for widescreen. Right click on the asset, say “Interpret footage” and choose conform to wide screen and that should fix it.

Brad, FCP/QT does ProRes (all flavors) without a problem. The “Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card” refers to a hardware card such as from AJA or Black Magic.
Meanwhile, can you be more specific? Which version of FCP? You installed the proapps, did you run software update? Was the footage HDV? Is it prores? How did it get to be prores at work?

Which codec? Some codecs (such as DV, ProRes) don’t permit bitrate changes.
