Try selecting the file and hitting command I to get the info box, there should be a lock check box there. If your using OS X on the mac, select all your files and hit command I, click the check box once and it will apply the change to all the files.

Play with the filters. Distortions, The artistic filters.
Some of these are using the stylize filters such as Emboss.
Also, play with the layer effects. Bevel/emboss etc

You could try posterize (Image>Adjustment> Posterize)
I have a feeling this was traced from a Photo, then finished up in Illustrator

I think the way I’d do it is make a selection out of the Black square, then go to each layer and fill the selection with black

Does the Targa have an existing Alpha channel? If so, use the alpha to delete the background and do a save as > PNG
If you don’t have an existing alpha, you may be able to use one of the image’s color channels to create one.
Windows pull done > Channels. Look at the individual Red, Green or blue channels. Find one that gives you good contrast and copy, create a new channel and paste. You may have to clean it up a bit, but this should separated the logo from the background.

LizardTech has a great plug-in for Photoshop that will allow you to raster images up cleanly. Works great unless your original images is a gif.

Under the windows pull down menu, you will find a window called actions. What actions do is record certain steps and then allow you to play back the steps to a group of other images. At the bottom of the actions menu is a folder, click on that, (this will create a folder for this set of actions) next to the folder is a page icon that will begin the recording.
Now, Open an image and proceed with the steps I gave you before, include “save as” and closing the file in the script.
To play back, Go to the File pull down>Automate>Batch. Select the folder of images that you want to alter and a new folder for the finals
A couple of tips. Never save over your original file in the script, always do a save as. When writing the script (when I say writing the script, I mean the actions record), always do a save as to your desktop. Every time I’ve done a save as in the same folder as the original art, the batch process has had a hard time dealing with it.
Lastly, if the box your clipping is not in the bottom left hand corner entirely, you may have to go back and do a second script to clip out the remainder of the image. So, first script is crop everything but the left bottom corner. next script is crop everything but the right top corner. That should give you want you want.
Let me know if you have further ???. Scripts are a little difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll use them all the time.

Try a batch process. When you write the script, use canvas size, click on the lower left hand corner and enter the pixal amount (width and Height). This will crop out everything but the lower left hand corner. You may want to play with the pixel amout before you write the script

Hold down the apple key and click on the icon of your path (In the paths pallette) This will make a selction from the path. Create a new layer and fill the selection. If your wanting to work with that portion of your image, do a copy and paste into, This will copy the selected portion of the image and paste it on a new layer.
