If I understand you correctly…

The two video clips that you’re transitioning between…are they both on one track in the timeline with the transition touching both clips?

Move the first clip up 2 lines to another track. Put the curtain transition on that clip. It will over-lap the 2nd clip that you left on the bottom track, but they won’t touch.

Then but your text on the blank, middle track between the 2 video clips.

FILE -> EXPORT -> QUICKTIME CONVERSION -> STILL IMAGE

Yes, I’d then set the settings on that to TIFF. Probably your best bet.

I generally put the playhead on the frame I want and set my in and out point there before exporting. But now that I think about it that might just be an old habit. I think it just exports the frame you’re looking at no matter what your in and outs are.

This is kind of a non-answer, but I’ll tell you what I do in situations like this.

Being more adept at using a Mac I put my efforts into seeing the Windows machine I want on the Mac and then using the Mac to copy the files instead of using the Windows machine.

I know…not a huge help, but turning the situation around like that has often allowed me to solve problems without actually fixing them!

iPhoto (version 6) can, but I think you get an 8-bit TIFF. Is the 16-bitt part critical?

As has been pointed out, no this is not allowed.

But just so you know, what IS allowed is to put 1 copy on 1 desktop AND on 1 laptop as long as both machines do not run Final Cut at the SAME time. So you’re allowed to work at home and then go and work on the road with only one copy.

But that’s the only way that putting 1 copy on multiple machines is ok.

You’re almost there.

Import the MPEG2 you made into DVD Studio Pro. That’s your video.

Now drag that QT movie into compressor again and put the DOLBY 2.0 setting onto it and compress it. That file is your audio. Import it to DVD SP as well.

Combine the video and audio in a track timeline in DVD SP.

So you’re not using the universal version of the software right now?

That’s the problem. I’m surprised you can do ANYTHING with it, actually. Once your new discs come you should be fine.

Just a note…I didn’t look into any solutions that would FULLY secure the iPod because I have a tiny suspicion that any such solution would interfere with the connection that iTunes has with your iPod. You might find that the iPod’s drive becomes very secure but that your music no longer updates!

Now, I don’t know of any such solutions, so maybe there IS something out there that does what you want without messing up the iTunes half of it…I’m just warning you to beware of any hard-drive securing solutions and consider how iTunes will react to them.

Ok, I have NO IDEA if this will work on an iPod…it’s meant to be done on the regular Mac drive. So proceed at your own risk.

That being said, it really looks like it could do what you need! You can create a disk image (you know those things that usually download when you get software off the net?) that requires a password to open.

So I’m guessing you could make the secure disc image and put that on your iPod and then put all your files in THAT. Just a guess on my part, but I’m hoping it would work.

I’d suggest trying one on your desktop and seeing if it works. If it does, see if you can drag it onto your iPod and see if it still works once it’s there.
