As has been pointed out, no this is not allowed.

But just so you know, what IS allowed is to put 1 copy on 1 desktop AND on 1 laptop as long as both machines do not run Final Cut at the SAME time. So you’re allowed to work at home and then go and work on the road with only one copy.

But that’s the only way that putting 1 copy on multiple machines is ok.

I’m curious where you found that exeption to the Apple license agreement. Here’s what the Apple Store website says:

Permitted License Uses and Restrictions. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single computer at a time. This includes the right to transfer your copy of the Apple Software licensed hereunder from an Apple G4 hardware platform to an Apple G5 hardware platform.

So, unless you have other information I don’t think you are allowed to do that. Please please please prove me wrong!

I checked the printed version that came with my Studio package and it also says the software can only be installed on one computer at a time. However, the license that loads with the installer for my 5.1 crossgrade says the same thing as the one you quoted. I’m goin’ with that one! Maybe that will teach me not to glaze over when the license page appears.

as noted, and just reiterated for clarity, it is only with th eintroduction of Final Cut Studio 5.1 that the license has changed to allow this. if you are using an earlier version you are not permitted to do so.
