i exported my video from final cut pro..as a quicktime movie (not a self contained) movie and just dragged it into compressor and i think it compressed it into mpeg 2..now i want do import into dvd studio pro as audio and video..how to do i do this without just importing as asset, or is the way the do it?

what are the best settings for a 30 minute video in compressor?
is there a quicktime tutorial i can watch for this? im kinda pressed on time

    thanks so much

    You’re almost there.

Import the MPEG2 you made into DVD Studio Pro. That’s your video.

Now drag that QT movie into compressor again and put the DOLBY 2.0 setting onto it and compress it. That file is your audio. Import it to DVD SP as well.

Combine the video and audio in a track timeline in DVD SP.

    Frank,

Like you and like the rest of the people in the world we’re all pressed for time.

There are tutorials and manuals that come with FCP Studio — you paid for them and Apple paid many people to write them. They are written and illustrated far better than anyone here could do, or would want to do. Why not use them and save yourself and everyone here a lot of useful time we could all be spending to achieve important things that will improve the universe???

But first! Duplicate the Dolby Preset so you can change a couple of things for better audio. After duplicating it, open the dup by double
clicking on it. It will open in Inspector. At the bottom of the Audio Tab in the Encoder section, change the Dialog Normalization from -27
to -31. Also make sure the Data Rate is 160 or 192 at the highest (it won’t sound any better if it’s higher).
Then at the top of the Preprocessing Tabbed window, change the Compression Preset from Film Standard Compression to None.
These new settings will optimize your audio. Save that new Preset to use for all your DVDs.
