I can also confirm it works fine for encode and import, without any Avid hardware.
You are accessing it via QuickTime, yes?

I use a ShuttlePro; wouldn’t want to edit without one. But then, I cut my editing teeth on analog gear.

How about a cheap blackburst gen. connected to another input of the monitor? Then you can switch the monitor instead of your software.

    Just a thought.

Yes, it’s a plugin, but you will have the serial # on your Adobe packaging.

Is it possible to genlock the video and audio systems? They have to be connected/synchronized somehow, or you will most likely have drift (as you found).

Are you sure both frame rates are the same? Because typically, video will actually be 23.98 FPS. If your audio is true 24.00 FPS (which it could be), there’s your problem. I’d fix it by re-timing the audio in Audition or similar app.

Try starting with a Google search on “3D motion tracking” followed by a search on “3D motion capture”. You should find a wealth of information to get you started.

January 27, 2012 at 4:15 pm in reply to: AE dome screen motion graphics

Here’s one shared tool from Spitz, Inc., a manufacturer of domes and related gear and programming: “Glom”
    https://extranet.spitzinc.com/download/

You’ll need to know the system used for projection (how many & what type of projector, etc.). Your client should actually be the one to provide you with specs, or a resource to contact. Another approach is to do the dome in true 3D space, of course.

    hope it helps a bit,

    Hi Olive,
Just a guess: Have you tried rendering without the “use previews” box checked?

Another question is– what’s the source footage?
AE, like any compositing program, is best served by using file sequences, not MOV, for source and output. I use TIFF sequences, because they have tested as the fastest (on my system) for load and output.
