I would be thoroughly shocked if the 6600 wasn’t supported by Motion. I have yet to see apple lock out a GPU that has pixel shader support (which is all it seems to come down to. if the GPU/core supports pixel shaders, it runs motion)

There’s a great chapter on masking in the user manual…. (Starts at page 851 if you’re using Motion 2)

I haven’t found a way to only use a filter on a portion of an image (effect mask) but the work around is pretty simple.
Place the footage over itself.
apply the filter to the top most copy
mask it to reveal the original unaffected copy underneathAnd FYI
“The masks can be feathered with up to 50 pixels”
The masks (and shapes) can be feathered from -1000 to 1000Hope that helps.

You need to use an HSV Adjust filter to do this. Slap it on your Text object and tweak away.
They are actually QT movies and unfourtunatly the way they are handled in Motion is slightly different than in Live Type (where you can change their color more easily)

“i’m seeing this even happen when i choose a behavior in the library…”
simply selecting a behavior in the library is popping up this message? That has never happend for me and I can’t think of what could cause it. Is it when selecting any behavior? A specific Behavior? Which one?
In order to explain what you are seeing, we need to know what you are doing. Currently the only thing we know is that you have an SD project and that really doesn’t give us anything to go on.
Starting from scratch;
What is your project?
What does it consist of?
What and how big are your elements? (resolution of files, size of text or shapes etc)
At what point do you see the message? (adding the first element? adding particles? changing the blend mode?) -
Hi Tad,
Could you be a little more specific about what it is your are cutting and pasting?Even though you are working in a SD comp, everything outside the canvas area is rendered. ie: if you have some large sized font on a long line of text that you are panning through the canvas, you can easily hit the texture limit of the card, especially if you have a filter on the text that grows it’s size as well.

“i then did the seccond scene and for some reason motion wont recognise the in built alpha”
If Motion didn’t interpret the alpha type, you can manually set the alpha type in the Inspector’s Media tab.
(Select the object in the Layer’s list, control+click it to get the contextual menu and select Reveal Source Media to bring up the Media tab.)

ecost shows it for $211.94 and mentions a $50 rebate. (Price after rebate =$161.94)

“their is no documentation in the manual on it and its a real cool feature.”
You may have missed it. There’s about 3 pages on the MIDI beahavior and how to use it starting around page 357 in the Motion 2 Manual… Hope that helps.
