This is a message for John Rofrano (or anyone else who uses Primiera disc publishers!):

I’ve been trying to find a way to do this without burning a master CD and then re-importing into the PT Publisher program. Thanks!

Has anyone else experienced this problem or has a solution been found yet?

For purpose of editing and mixing classical music concerts this type of normalization would be ideal. Would anyone else see the benefit of having this feature in Vegas?

Yep! That’s the problem..
I submitted a ticket to Sony support, after 27 days of waiting I received the following response:
>I recommend navigating to the folder where the audio files are stored and deleting all of the .sfk files in that >folder, then re-open the Vegas project afterward. This will usually resolve this type of issue.
It appears that this is a known problem, I hope it can be resolved in a near-future update. We also have to check every CD to the very end to ensure it is not a ‘muted’ disc and that there are no dropouts…checking and re-burning defective discs adds up to a lot of additional work for us!

Thanks Steve –
I definitely have the track regions set correctly. In fact, my work around is to add an extra 5 seconds at the end of every disc to ensure no music is cut off the last track.
Audio only files are captured directly to Vegas through a RME Fireface 800. Video is captured using a BlackMagic Decklink card, software is Media Express.
I find it hard to believe my systems are the only ones that have these problems! It might be possible that most people don’t check their discs all the way to the very end….but still…
Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for your help Mike! I appreciate your time.
Already tried the VLC convert function with semi-success. The video converts fine but the audio will not convert to a format that works in Vegas. I’ve tried converting to .wav and .mp3, but no luck getting it into Vegas (maybe I am converting the file incorrectly).
I think I’ve found another source of the media, so I’ll try that as a workaround.
Thanks,

Installed the current version of quicktime from the website (7.7.1) but the file still can’t be read by Vegas. It still plays fine in windows media and VLC, just not in Vegas.
Any other ideas?

hmmm… I feel like a bit of a dope.
Didn’t realize I would need to have Quicktime installed. The files plays fine in both Windows media player and VLC and Gspot says that both audio and video codecs are installed.
I’ll install the most current version of Quicktime and see if this fixes the problem.
Thanks!

Any further information on the auto increment function in ME3? I would also like to see this function return!
