Problem Importing files to Vegas
Posted by Jason O’connell on November 14, 2011 at 1:57 amHello –
I’m having some problems importing this file into Vegas pro 10. I am not sure what type of camera created it but here is what Gspot says.
I seems to be a mp4 file with mp3 audio, but why won’t vegas import it?
Any help would be great!
Thanks,

November 14, 2011 at 3:52 pmhmmm… I feel like a bit of a dope.
Didn’t realize I would need to have Quicktime installed. The files plays fine in both Windows media player and VLC and Gspot says that both audio and video codecs are installed.
I’ll install the most current version of Quicktime and see if this fixes the problem.
Thanks!

November 14, 2011 at 7:28 pmInstalled the current version of quicktime from the website (7.7.1) but the file still can’t be read by Vegas. It still plays fine in windows media and VLC, just not in Vegas.
Any other ideas?

November 14, 2011 at 8:42 pmThanks for your help Mike! I appreciate your time.
Already tried the VLC convert function with semi-success. The video converts fine but the audio will not convert to a format that works in Vegas. I’ve tried converting to .wav and .mp3, but no luck getting it into Vegas (maybe I am converting the file incorrectly).
I think I’ve found another source of the media, so I’ll try that as a workaround.
Thanks,
Jason
