    Thanks guys! I’ll submit what I got and if there’re issues I can’t resolve I’ll come a-knockin’

I don’t know the size of the billboard specifically. It’s on the side of a road in Chicago somewhere. I rendered the clip out at the small rez for them to try. Do you think that if I submitted the bigger size clip it would fit the billboard and still work or would it de-rez?

The project manager said that the built in animations are really crisp and vibrant but so far the ads they’ve put up made by designers are blurry and washed out. I’ve looked online for spec info but can’t find any.

That could also be a 3D program. See also this:

You can parent one layer to the other OR Alt-click on the ‘stopwatch’ of one layer’s Rotation property. Use the pickwhip to drag/select the rotation property of the other layer. The two will always be the same then.

To bring up the Rotation property, hit ‘R’ with the layer selected. The pickwhip is a swirl icon that you click and hold, then drag over the property you want to link, then let go.

In trapcode you can assign the emitter to be a light. by animating the lights you can create a swirl effect as the particles move in the same motion but have a lag.
If the rotation effect loses it’s depth you can always precomp the particle layer and 3D it. Rotate on X and you should get the angle you’d want.
I guess that’s one way to try.

This is a matter with a lot of variability due to time and computing restraints/advantages. Also, opinion. What works best for you is really the right answer. However, learning other people’s workflow is good for comparison. Here’s what I did:
Render out any element from AE in QT (best quality/huge files). I put the video together in Premiere (add sound/music, and basic scene transitions). I prefer to render from there to 1280×720 mpeg II (faster upload to web) but you do lose quality. The network I worked on has upload limits, and if I uploaded a huge QT file, everyone at work phoned me that they couldn’t use the internet (example of circumstances). Youtube has good conversion software and as long as you give them a high quality version, it looks good. If you are doing work for a client, obviously, provide them with the highest quality render you can.

That will be relatively easy in AE. Pre-comp your pictures and set up the move you want in Z-space. Then copy the keyframes to all the other pic comps and offset them according to taste/time. The last pic to move out of the eye you can fade out the transparency or zoom out to nothing over the face as you pull back. I might animate all the pictures to do the moving but, then, do a camera pull for the the face shot (and add in some depth of field).

Download the project files. Inside the zip is a script. Install it in the Script folder in your adobe folder.
