    Hi all –

I am a n00b to AE and would like to animate a start with long extended points in a sweeping motion over a background image.

So far I have created the star + a beam adjustment layer. I can get them to rotate independently, but how do I “connect” them so that they rotate together?

All help highly appreciated, YouTube and a Google search for a tutorial were not my friend this AM

You can parent one layer to the other OR Alt-click on the ‘stopwatch’ of one layer’s Rotation property. Use the pickwhip to drag/select the rotation property of the other layer. The two will always be the same then.

To bring up the Rotation property, hit ‘R’ with the layer selected. The pickwhip is a swirl icon that you click and hold, then drag over the property you want to link, then let go.
