That’s pretty sweet! If I have only two macs (one plugged into a Pegasus R6) can I just ethernet network them together and share the storage? My Macbook Pro only has one ethernet jack, but the wi-fi is so fast, I don’t really need it for internet. Thinking about getting an iMac to add to the configuration.

I’ve been using FCPX for about 11 months. It’s been perfect for what I do quite a bit of: corporate interviews/talking heads. I love being able to ‘roll my own’ presets in Motion. Keywording/favorites have been great. Publish to YouTube? Use it ALL THE TIME. I’m editing native AVCHD on a 2011 Macbook Pro. Very nice. The whole system has allowed me to get my work done faster.

I’ve always created the disk image first, then the event. So I’m no help there. I am interested in how you set up your NAS, though! Are you using a Pegasus?

What are your system specs? Have you tried setting playback to “better performance” to see if that makes a difference?

It looks like they are actually jockeying the camera around in this one. In others I’ve seen, it looks like they are shooting a large area in high rez (like Mark said) and doing virtual camera moves in post. They also composite together some of these segments to get seamless transitions and make it look like it’s all on one giant whiteboard. You might even be able to accomplish this with a still camera and an intervalometer, depending on how often you need to snap an image. I’m writing up a script this morning that utilizes this timelapse art method, so I may get the chance to try this out!

Did you do this yourself or did you hire someone? I’m wondering if that’s a pre-created template, or was that designed for you?”
Thanks, Greg. I designed the website in Photoshop, based loosely on a WordPress theme that I purchased. My amazing web guy, Richard Foster, took my Photoshop work and did some major modifying of the WordPress theme to bring this to life. I love how easy it is to change out the video samples on the main page or add news posts with embedded videos.
[Greg Ball] “I really like how the samples move, but we weren’t clear at first that they were your video samples. I wonder if there’s a way to label them.”
Perhaps if I made the play symbol on the topmost video more opaque it would be more obvious.
