[John Davidson] “1. Mac pro – any flavor
2. Macbook pro 15 fully loaded and upgraded. I7. Ssd
3. Imac fully loaded – 27″i7. Ssd”Hi, John:
Looking at a new machine myself. Wondering why you have the MBP before the iMac. Doesn’t the MBP max out at 2GB of video memory, 2.6 GHZ procs and 16 GB of memory? You can get an iMac with a 4GB video card, a 3.5 GHz proc and 32 GB of memory.

May 14, 2014 at 12:48 pm in reply to: shooting 4 hour long presentation: which camera for under $700?The GH2 will do great. I once did a low motion/bitrate recording test with mine and it went for 7 hours straight! You’ll want to get a 64GB SD card, like this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/839982-REG/SanDisk_SDSDRX3_064G_A21_64GB_SDXC_Memory_Card.html which will give you 6 hours of recording time in 1080 24p mode. Doing some 4 hour test recordings beforehand would be a good idea as well.

[Anand Prahash] “I was looking at the Panasonic GH4, how does that look for my needs?”
Heck, yeah! Pair the GH4 with the Panasonic – 35-100mm f/2.8 Lumix G Vario Zoom Lens, and you’ve got a winner 🙂

[andy lewis] “I haven’t used SoundSoap 3. I used earlier versions and liked it a lot. Then a couple of years passed and when I had to remove some background noise all the internet talk was of Izotope RX. So that’s what I use now.
RX is amazing. I haven’t done any kind of comparison though.”
I tried the demo of RX as a plugin for FCPX recently. The results I got were definitely not as good as exporting audio and using noise reduction in Audition. Maybe it was operator error; I don’t know. I want to try out Soundsoap in FCPX, but there doesn’t seem to be a demo version.

I haven’t tried it, but I wonder if Plasti Dip spray would work well for that application.

OK, tried it again; only this time I created a new multicam clip starting with the compound in question. Everything looks (and sounds) good now 🙂
